Run for the Mummy!
MVA is a school that teaches interdisciplinary units of study called expeditions.  Our school strives to have students work on relevant projects within the local, national, and global community.  In order to do this well, we plan kick off experiences, participate in fieldwork, and create projects that serve a purpose outside the building.  These opportunities come at a cost beyond the boundaries of our classroom budgets.  We started the MVA Mummy Run in 2013 in order to raise funds for these such experiences.

MAES Happenings
Literacy Night!
Literacy Night was a success!  Many families showed up and partook in the baseball-themed activities planned by MAES staff.  Marla McKenna presented the story behind writing her book as well.  A tremendous thanks to the families, students, and staff for making this a joyful event!

Marla McKenna visits!
The author of Mom's Big Catch and Sadie's Big Steal made a visit to MAES to work with our third graders on their own stories.  She offered one-on-one time with the students in revising their work.  Her own stories delivers an anti-bullying message that is told in a unique way.  She has had a positive impact in helping students demonstrate friendship, respect and kindness.  This is CREW!
